She is a certified Group Exercise instructor for the past 8 years. She teaches Group Strength on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30am. She also teaches Pilates on Thursday at 5:30am.

She is a registered nurse of 25 years specializing in geriatric care. She also is a CPR instructor.

Her passion is to help people get healthy and learn to love themselves!

Fun fact: She is very goal oriented … If you set a goal she will run faster to help you achieve it … she will NEVER allow you to give up on yourself!


She is am certified in Zumba Basic 1, and started teaching at STAR this year. She teaches Monday at 5:30pm, Wednesday at 5:30pm and Friday at 11:00am.
The best part of teaching is the joy and fun it brings to her students lives. Also, she loves the way it makes all stress melt away.

Fun fact: one of her passions is the piano, she has been playing since she was 6.


She has taught group classes for many years. She believes no two classes should be the same and plans each class to be high intensity with different choreography each time. She enjoys the members and receives pleasure from watching them get stronger and gain confidence. On Monday and Wednesday, she teaches Spin at 9:00am, then P.S.P (Pump, Step, and Plyometrics) 10:00am.

Donna is certified with Aerobics and Fitness Association of America and International Fitness Professionals Association.


She has been doing Zumba for over 4 years and started teaching in October 2016 after receiving her certification.

“I think Zumba is the best, definitely fun way to burn 600+ calories per class. I love watching my students get into the music, the routines, have fun, and become healthy all at the same time. You don’t have to be a dancer to attend a Zumba class, it’s all about having fun and getting a good workout.”

Elissa is a mother of 4 kids, twin girls in the Airforce, a son in the Army, and an older son who is married. “What I enjoy the most is spending time with my 3 grandsons! They are the highlight of my life!”


She is the owner of Fundamental Yoga LLC. and has a passion for Yoga which flows throughout her
sessions! She has been a practitioner of Yoga for over a decade and her capabilities as a teacher are
vast. She currently teaches all levels of students as well as therapeutics in a variety of settings on the
Northshore. Her style of teaching incorporates both the principles of Iyengar as well as ViniYoga
depending upon the needs of the students. On Wednesday she teaches Chair Yoga at 11:00am and Yoga 6:30pm.

Being Yoga Alliance registered as an ERYT500 as well as a certified yoga teacher she continues to
broaden her knowledge through study with many of the leading teachers of Yoga. She studies within the
lineage of T. Krishnamacharya.

She has been teaching a variety of group fitness classes since 1995 and certified in various fitness programs including cardio, kickboxing, step, hi-lo, pilates, yoga, zumba, spin, personal training, APEX Nutrition and more from numerous fitness affiliations including AFAA, ACE, Bally’s Fit University, International Alliance for Fitness, Fitour and more. She currently teaches Zumba on Monday’s at 11am and Friday’s at 10am.

She is certified with Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and has been a Group Exercise instructor for 20 years. She has taught for Curitons Sports Club prior to Katrina, the City of Kenner for 17 years receiving high praise from the Mayor, Jefferson Parish for 8 years, Kenner’s Council on Aging, Metairie Manor Senior Fitness for 10 years, and Special Connections for adults with special needs for 5 years. She has been an instructor at STAR for the past two years.

Mary currently teaches Aerobic/Strength on Monday’s and Thursday’s at 6:30pm. She also teaches a TBC Class on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s at 5:30pm.
